Labia Minora

They are usually two flaps of skin either side of the vagina. They act as protective structures for the vagina, clitoris and urinary orifice. The labia minora can vary in size, shape and colour. Labia minora reduction surgery will reduce excess, floppy, or uneven skin.
The labia minora is also known as the inner lips. They can vary in size, shape and colour. Above all, your labia minora is there to protect your vagina and urethra (the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of your body) from bacteria. Labia minora reduction surgery will remove excess, floppy, or uneven labia minora, to give you a pleasing look.

Labia Majora

Our surgeons continue to refine their labia majora reduction surgery technique. They reduce the size of the labia majora by excising a crescent-shaped portion of the inner portion of the majora.

Clitoral Hood Reduction

Aesthetica surgeons have been trained in clitoral hood reduction surgery. It is a precise procedure that works closely around the clitoris without affecting its functionality.
It can be performed as a stand-alone procedure or as part of a labiaplasty.
Clitoral Hood reduction involves removing excess skin on either side of the clitoris. Most importantly, our advanced techniques do not go near your clitoris or any of the nerves.

Dynamic vs Static wrinkles

Anti wrinkle injections are used to treat expression lines referred to as dynamic wrinkles, they are dynamic because they form when the underlying muscles are contracted and should disappear when the muscles are relaxed.
Repeated facial expressions over time will lead to static wrinkles (wrinkles that don’t disappear when facial muscles are relaxed).
These static wrinkles can be treated with injectable dermal fillers that provide a natural and younger appearance by ‘filling in’ facial wrinkles and folds.
Patients that present for wrinkle treatments can have a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and injectable dermal fillers to achieve their desired results.

Wrinkle Reduction Injections
Wrinkle reduction injections are actually a chemical toxin. It is well known by the brand names that cannot be mentioned and is used as a Cosmetic medical treatment for wrinkles, frown lines and facial rejuvenation.
Wrinkle reduction injections have been used for many years to treat certain medical conditions. In fact, its use as a cosmetic treatment was only discovered when people using it to treat facial muscle spasms noticed an improvement in the facial wrinkles of their patients.
How does the treatment work?
Wrinkle reduction injections block the release of a neurotransmitter (a chemical messenger) known as acetylcholine from nerve cells as it’s purpose is to transmit pulses from the nerves to the muscle cells. This causes the muscles to work or contract. Without acetylcholine, the nerve is unable to transmit a message to the muscle so the muscle is temporarily weakened and non-reactive. The nerve regenerates usually within 2-4 months.
The effect of these injections is restricted to the area being treated, and because the nerve fibres usually regenerate after a couple of months, the effect is only temporary.
What are these injections used for?
Injections are traditionally used to treat medical conditions such as:
* blepharospasm (twitching or spasm of the eyelid);
* cervical dystonia, or spasmodic torticollis (a type of muscle spasm in the neck);
* facial or other localised muscle spasms;
* muscle spasticity due to cerebral palsy; and
* strabismus (a condition where the eyes are not properly aligned).
Hyperhidrosis
These injections can be directed into the skin to block the action of the nerves that control your sweat glands especially for your underarms or palms of hands or feet.
Migraine headaches
It can also be used to help prevent migraines in those suffering from chronic migraine.
Cosmetic Treatments
Wrinkle reduction injections are now approved for the cosmetic treatment of vertical frown lines between your eyebrows, (also called glabellar lines) — and horizontal forehead lines, and smile lines, or crows feet on the corners of your eyes.
How are these injections used to treat wrinkles?
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to weaken or paralyse some of the facial muscles that pull on your skin and cause wrinkles, allowing the skin to flatten out. About 2 to 7 days after the injections, the lines and wrinkles that are normally caused by certain facial expressions start to disappear. Because anti-wrinkle therapy targets specific, individual muscles, the ability to form most facial expressions should not be affected.
How long do the effects last?
The improvement in the appearance of your wrinkles usually lasts for about 3 months. Repeated injections are required to maintain the effect. With continued use, the effects may start to last longer.
A small number of people develop neutralising antibodies to injections after repeated therapy, which results in the treatment no longer being effective.
Are wrinkle reduction injections safe?
They are relatively safe when administered by a medical professional who is trained in its use.
As with all treatments, there are some side effects associated with its use, but most of these are mild and temporary. Pain, tenderness and bruising may be associated with the injection. Some people have reported a slight headache after treatment. Nausea and flu-like syndrome are also rarely reported. There is only a small risk of significant side effects from this treatment, such as a drooping eyelid (which usually only lasts a few days, but can last longer).
Anti-wrinkle injections should not be used in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
It’s important to remember that all medical procedures carry risks as well as benefits. You need to discuss these with your doctor.
Where can I get wrinkle reduction injections treatment?
Wrinkle reduction injections are only available on prescription from a doctor. They should always be given by a trained medical professional who is familiar with the correct technique. Your Aesthetica doctor will be able to let you know whether these injections are suitable for you.
