Viora Radiofrequency Technology at Aesthetica

Viora is a radiofrequency platform we use at Aesthetica for selected skin and tissue concerns. The specific device, applicator and settings decide what it's used for, its risks and your aftercare.

What Viora Technology Is

Viora is a radiofrequency (RF) platform with applicators that can be swapped over. V-ST and V-FR deliver energy in different ways, and may involve surface radiofrequency or fractional RF microneedling. The specific device, applicator and settings decide what it’s used for, its risks and your aftercare.

V-ST and V-FR Applications

V-ST is a surface radiofrequency applicator we use for some skin-laxity and tightening treatments. V-FR is a fractional radiofrequency applicator we use for some skin texture concerns. After your assessment, we choose the applicator and settings to suit you.

Treatment Areas and Service Pages

People often ask us about Viora for things like:

  • selected skin-tightening or texture treatments within what the device is designed for
  • areas of the face or body the applicator can be used on
  • how V-ST and V-FR differ

Having a concern doesn’t mean you need treatment, or that it’s right for you.

Your Assessment and Settings

The clinician responsible for your care checks whether your concern, skin type, anatomy, medicines, any implants and previous treatments are compatible with the Viora applicator being considered.

At your consultation we’ll explain who is assessing you, what information we look at, whether you need a referral and how your consent is recorded. Coming to a consultation doesn’t mean we’ll recommend treatment.

Risks, Side Effects and Limitations

Treatment with Viora technology carries real risks and possible complications. Here’s a general summary, but it isn’t a complete or personal consent discussion:

  • pain, redness, swelling or bruising
  • burns, blisters or tissue injury
  • infection where the skin is entered
  • pigment change, scarring or changes in sensation
  • a limited response

Before you decide, the clinician responsible for your care will explain how likely and how serious each risk is, how it’s managed, and any risks specific to you. No procedure should be thought of as routine, risk-free or right for every adult.

Treatment Course and Maintenance

For some treatments we may talk about a course of appointments, and we’ll review your progress before any further treatment. Having a device available doesn’t mean treatment suits you, works for every concern or is better than another option.

Device Information and ARTG Verification

Medical devices supplied in Australia are listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). You’re welcome to ask us for the ARTG details of the device used for your treatment. Being on the register isn’t a government endorsement and doesn’t guarantee a result.

Questions

Viora Technology: Your Questions Answered

What is Viora?

It’s a radiofrequency technology platform. The exact treatment depends on the applicator and settings we use.

What is the difference between V-ST and V-FR?

V-ST uses surface radiofrequency, while V-FR uses fractional RF microneedling.

How is the technology regulated in Australia?

Medical devices supplied in Australia are listed on the ARTG. Being listed isn’t a government endorsement or a guarantee of results.

Does the technology guarantee a result?

No. The technology, settings, your anatomy and how you respond all affect the outcome.

Where can I read the risks?

Our RF skin tightening and Pixel RF microneedling pages each explain the risks and aftercare for that treatment.
